What is “BROCK Bowls for Kids”?

Big Brothers Big Sisters “BROCK Bowls for Kids” is one of the largest, student-run fundraising events for children and youth in our community. Over the last 6 years of the event, BROCK Bowls for Kids has raised over to help the kids in our community. This would not have been possible without the support and help of students and sponsors like you.

Why Bowl for Kids?

·         It’s a great way to have fun and help kids!

·         We are an important resource to over 250 Brock students each year looking for practical experience and we would like that number to grow even larger.

o    We need your support to ensure that every child that needs a mentor has one.

·         Big Brothers Big Sisters Programs are cost-effective, preventative, and the impacts are profound.

o    Our “Littles” graduate at a rate 20% higher than the national average!

o    There are over 220 kids anxiously waiting to be matched!

What To Do?

·         Form a team of 4-5 friends.

·         Each team member must raise a minimum of $35 by the day you bowl

·         Reserve a Bowling Lane with the BBBS office or by registering online at www.brockbowls.com

·         Come out to bowl at Parkway Lanes, 327 Ontario St., St. Catharines on

Wednesday, February 1st, or Thursday, February 2nd, 2012.

o    Dress up to have fun…

o    This year is a ‘celebrity theme…

o    We’ll have fun contests and give-a-ways all night long!

Event-Day Checklist – Wednesday, Feb. 1st, and Thursday Feb. 2nd, 2012

o    Each bowler must have a Pledge Envelope or Printed Pledge Form with all of their information clearly printed and with all cash/cheque pledges enclosed.

o    Online and offline (cash/chq) pledges must total $35 to bowl at your scheduled time

o    Sign-in and drop-off your Pledge Envelope or Printed Pledge Form, with your pledges, at the Registration tables at Parkway Lanes ½ hour before you bowl.

o    Each bowler will need to bring their student card in order to receive a pair of bowling shoes
